Therapy for people dealing with overwhelm, loss, and life transitions — online or in person in Victoria, BC

Solemere Psychotherapy

About

Hello!

My name is Tanya, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in Victoria, BC.  I offer grounded, practical support from a relational and trauma-informed perspective. I believe therapy is where transformation occurs through a combination of my guidance and your courage. I've known what it’s like to lose direction, rebuild, and to learn the how to keep going when there wasn’t a clear way forward. With over fifty years behind me, I don’t come to this work untouched — I bring the perspective of someone who has lived through enough of life’s hardest edges that I can meet you with honesty, empathy, and respect.

It’s a privilege to be entrusted with your story, and I approach that responsibility with care, respect, and gratitude: I respect the  courage it takes to step into this space, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.

What I Offer...

Individual Therapy:
Online & In-Person
 Group Therapy:
Online & In-Person

I offer one-on-one therapy for adults navigating relational trauma, attachment wounds, grief, anxiety, and life transitions. Much of my work centers on the impact of loss, emotional abuse, chronic relational stress, identity erosion, and the long-term effects of feeling unseen or unsafe in important relationships.

Trauma and loss both affect the nervous system, and shape how you trust, build relationships, and deal with general life challenges.

Therapy provides a safe, confidential space to understand those patterns, rebuild self-trust, strengthen boundaries, and make sense of what you have carried. Sessions are available in person in Victoria, BC, or online for accessibility.

For more details about my specialties, focus, and availability, please visit my Treatments page.

Throughout the year, I facilitate small therapy groups centered on grief, attachment, and emotional trauma. These groups are for adults who want to process loss and relational strain in the presence of others who understand its weight.

Some groups focus on:

  • Rebuilding after divorce and major relationship changes

  • Relational trauma and attachment wounds

  • Anticipatory grief related to aging parents or partners

  • Coping with the decline and anticipated loss of an aging pet

  • Pet loss and adjusting after the death of a pet

I also offer reflective, reading-based groups (bibliotherapy).  Drawing on my background as a librarian, I offer reflective, book club–style therapy groups for those who process grief, trauma, and identity shifts through reading and shared discussion.

Grief  and trauma can feel isolating. In an intimate, structured group setting, it does not have to be carried alone.

Information about upcoming group therapy sessions in Victoria, BC and online can be found on my Treatments page.
