What I Offer: Areas of Specialization in Individual
and Group Therapy

Individual Therapy
Individual Therapy:  Specializations and Focus

I work with adults navigating trauma, grief, life transitions, and disconnection. My approach is person-centered — you’re not treated like a case file, but as a whole human being. I draw from IFS, mindfulness, somatic awareness, CBT, narrative, and relational work, but what matters most is the connection we build. Together, we create a space that is steady, safe, and honest.

Trauma — I help you explore how trauma lingers in the body, mind, and relationships, and work with the parts of yourself that carry pain in ways that feel safe and manageable.

Grief — I support both the grief that is openly recognized and the kinds that are often minimized, such as pet loss, aging, illness, or identity changes.

Life Transitions — I provide steadiness and practical tools for navigating times of change, whether that means career shifts, relocation, aging, or the end of a relationship.

Feeling Disconnected — I work with people who feel numb, cut off, or misunderstood, helping them rebuild presence, belonging, and vitality in their lives.

Group Therapy: Current Groups

Group therapy offers something different than one-on-one work: the chance to connect with others who are also navigating challenges, to realize you are not alone, and to draw strength from shared experience. I facilitate groups that are supportive, structured, and intentional, designed to blend therapeutic insight with real human connection. Email me at tanya@solemere.com to inquire about times and available spaces.

Political Anxiety Support Circle

This group is for people who feel overwhelmed by political turmoil, social injustice, and the relentless churn of intense news cycles. Together, we process the stress of living in chaotic times, build community, share resilience strategies, and find collective strength. My background teaching law and justice education, working internationally, and navigating complex political contexts gives me a strong foundation for guiding this work with steadiness and perspective.

Mind Readers: A Therapeutic Reading Group

This  group uses thoughtfully chosen, accessible books as a starting point for reflection and conversation. It balances insight and connection, giving participants the chance to explore ideas, share experiences, and discover new perspectives. I bring experience as a librarian, educator, and literacy advocate who has led book clubs in unconventional settings — including a women’s prison — where reading became a bridge to support, self-expression, and resilience.
